Hope Gallery was conceived right after 9/11 by artist and archivalist Ana Marie Lopez when she was contracted by the U.S. Army to do custom framing restoration on military memorabilia damaged at the Pentagon. Thus, the name, Hope Gallery, was born.

For three years, Fort Myer Community Center in Arlington VA was Hope Gallery’s home base providing quality custom framing services to the Pentagon, MDW, MWR, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Arlington Cemetery, Marines, DOD, the U.S. Army Band, and the general public. During that time, Hope Gallery started to collect fine art from local and international artists. In 2004, Hope Gallery moved to Old Town Alexandria on the 2nd floor of Gallery G.

Ana Marie Lopez received her Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts from the Universidad de Santo Tomas and a BFA at La Consolacion College in the Philippines. After graduation, she taught art in a private elementary school and experimented on fiber art. In 1986, she came to the United States during the Philippines' People Power Revolution. Since then, Ana has dedicated herself in the area of art preservation at Broadway Galleries in Alexandria VA and Snowgoose Gallery in Columbia MD. In 1998, she studied Mat Decoration under Brian Wolf, CPF at PPFA, and Fabric Matting under Vivian Kistler, CPF. In the last few years, Ana has been known in Washington DC for her military memorabilia restoration after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She is now the contract framer for Gallery G in Old Town Alexandria for well-known artists such as Matthew Johnston (Tulips), Martha Brumbaugh (Cave Paintings), Chad Brady and Carolyn Kriebel (Murals), and Len Garon (Old Town). Ana is also a fiber artist.
